In Reception we love to learn through play indoors and outdoors.
We have a fantastic learning environment including the classroom, woodland area and other outdoor areas.
Our children enjoy learning how to make friends and develop their confidence.
Our staff are passionate to create interesting and joyful experiences which encompass all talents and interests.
Reception explored the inside of a pumpkin. We used our senses and described it before making yummy pumpkin soup.
Reception came together to make ‘worry hearts’. We shared our worries and reflected on how we can help these worries to go away.
Reception made poppies to mark 100 years since World War 1. They sang a song beautifully together, to remember the soldiers that have died.
Reading books will be changed on Monday and Thursday. Children should read every night and this needs to be acknowledged in their reading diary. Books will not be changed if you have not read at home. Children need to bring their reading book into school every day.
Thank you for your support.
Your child will have reading at home and a variety of activities to complete. These may include phonic, number, shape activities, seasonal walks or celebrating festivals etc. There is also a weekly home mind map informing parents of what we have been learning in school. We love to hear about what you have been doing at home to support this. Please fill in the comments box and return to school.
PE will be on Wednesdays this year. Please ensure that your child has their full PE kit in school.
