We explored the wonderful world of books on World Book Day. On this day, we had the opportunity to explore all the thrilling places Roald Dahl had been throughout his life. We used our mapping skills to locate these places in an atlas.
On Thursday 22nd we walked to the library to share with them our love of reading and take part in a Horrid Henry workshop. We listened to Joanne read one of the stories from Horrid Henry and the Abominable Snowman.
We recognised that each of the characters names was spelt with alliteration. After we discussed some describing words for Joanne (Jolly Joyful Jovial Joanne) we used dictionaries to find adjectives to describe ourselves…… and the teachers!
This was a fantastic experience as we got you used our description and dictionary skills outside of the classroom.
In maths, we have been looking at fractions. We investigated what fraction of each colour was in a tube of smarties We even resisted the temptation to eat them when we were finished!
